Criminal Law

I represent people who have been accused of crimes in Jefferson County, Alabama.  I frequently represent people charged with misdemeanors, drug crimes and serious felonies in Municipal, District and Circuit Courts.  If you have been charged with a crime it is important that you speak with an attorney and understand your rights immediately.

Divorce

A divorce can be either contested or uncontested. A divorce is only uncontested if there are no legal or factual issues that the Court must resolve. Couples seeking an uncontested divorce must come to an agreement to end the marriage and on how the marital debts and property will be divided before filing. I can prepare all of the documents necessary for an uncontested divorce or represent you in a contested divorce.

Eviction Services

An eviction is lawsuit filed for the purpose of removing a tenant after a lease has been terminated. Evictions must be filed before a landlord can legally remove any of the tenant’s belongings. I represent landlords primarily, but on occasion I will accept a case on behalf of the tenant.

Employment Law

I represent employees who have been discriminated against in the workplace because of their race, sex, age and disability.  I also represent employees who have not been compensated for the overtime that they have earned.  If you believe that you have been the victim of workplace discrimination, you must file a charge of discrimination with the EEOC within six months of the act of discrimination.  As such, you should call an attorney to discuss the merits of your case as soon you are aware of the discrimination.

Estate Planning

Most adults can benefit from estate planning.  A will is a document that explains how you would like your assets to be divided among your loved ones after your death. Creating a will allow your loved ones to avoid the complex legal proceedings and conflict that is sometimes associated with a loved ones passing.  I can assist you in drafting a will so that your loved ones are protected in their time of need.
